Abel Travis serves as vice president of Fundamental Underwriters at AF Group, previously serving as chief underwriting officer, before being appointed to lead Fundamental’s efforts to find innovative solutions for industry customers.
Travis is an international keynote speaker and has been a featured industry contributor to The Economist, Carrier Management, Digital Insurance, Insurance CIO Magazine, etc. Travis contributes to several industry white papers and thought leadership publications.
Travis has received numerous awards, including the WBJ 40 under 40, was named a Digital Insurance Innovator to Watch, named a Hot 100 Leader by Insurance Business America, and was recognized as a Diverse Leader of Change.
Travis advises InsurTech startups, and mentor’s future industry leaders. He serves on the board of several nonprofits, including Lansing Promise, a program offering post-secondary tuition assistance to eligible high school graduates.
Travis earned his M.B.A. from Long Island University, and Bachelors in Finance from Clarkson University.
